This fire lead to the fraudulent insurance claim on the extraction plant worth around $55,000 and on Dads shed of around $100,000 worth.
Statement
“4. My farther and I went 50/50 in a honey extraction plant for both of us to use in around 2015. It cost $96000. I did all the setup, installation and fabrication to get it operating at no charge. This was despite the considerable pain of my injury.
5. In 2017 there was an incident that resulted in this machine being burnt. I was doing work around the shed at 177 Station Rd Bethania on the bobcat and Dad had a fire that needed to be moved. I picked it up with the bobcat and dad directed me where to put it. The fire was still burning. About an hour later I was still on the bobcat and I saw that the fire had spread and had lit up a pill of old bee frames near the shed and was out of control. I drove the bobcat over the fire and dragged it away from the shed and was able to stop it burning the shed. I rang Dad with the hose it my hand and told him I was putting the fire out to which he replied “Do not put that fire out I am coming down”. He did not come down. Before I left for lunch I checked the fire and it was again getting out of control. I again got the hose to stop it and rand Dad saying that I am putting it out. Again but more forceful “Do not put that fire out I am coming down now”. I explain that I was leaving and that I would not be there and again he said he was coming down now. About 1 hour later he called me saying it had all burnt down, our extraction plant was burnt.”
This is another extract from that statement the explains the first discussion regarding our shared assets.
“11. On or around 13/10/2021 I discussed splitting our shared assets with Dad. He replied they were all his. I asked how you can claim you own assets we purchased together and he responded “You are out of the game and they are all mine”. This triggered my PTSD and I called him a disgusting piece of shit, Dad started walking away and again I called him a piece of shit. Mum asked what was going on and I told her he is claiming assets I have paid half for and he is a piece of shit. This time it was louder as he had walked some distance away. Mum told me not to worry about it and I again called him a disgusting piece of shit, louder as he was about 20 meters away. It was not threatening as he was 20 meters away and I was not following him. Mum said she could not go out when we are like this and I should go home. She was ushering me to the door with her hands on my back, she did not seem scared or threated by me. I responded with I have come over here the make a list of what we are halves in and I will go home when I have done it. I went to the shed and started making the list with no contact with Dad, while I was in the yard he got on his quad bike and instead of turning it where he would normally he came over near me and speed passed extremely close in a threatening way. He is aware of my physical disabilities and he knows I have mental disabilities and PTSD with him and I believe he was trying to intimidate me. Not the actions of someone scared.”
